No Border Line is a project and a book aimed at highlighting the gross injustices in Moldovan society. Its purpose is to aid the most vulnerable: the children, the elderly and the disabled people who have long since been forgotten.
You will discover how people in power treat children so that they can get money from Western aid workers and how they then buy villas in Florida with the money that should be spent on food and warm clothing.
You will find out how the system tries to beat you down at every point so that the people just give up, fall in line and do as they are told. Who do you turn to if the government and police are corrupt?
I arrived in Moldova in the summer of 1994 at the age of 34. Since then, I have spent the rest of my life trying to make a difference and trying to help the people of this unknown country.
This is the story of East meeting West and how we must learn to work together to help others.
The girl with no face
Moldova is a country filled with the most amazing people you would hope to meet but they live with no hope of a civilised life - a life that we in the West take for granted.
The two pictures on this page highlight the contrast in Moldova and how some people are thrown out onto the streets to fend for themselves.
Both these girls have no future and have to survive the best they can from the generosity of others.
